Behind IIUM Borders, How is life out there?

Alhamdulilah, with Allah will I got the chances to attend one Intellectual Talk organized by Ummu Qura' last night . The title of the talk was Behind IIUM Borders, How is life out there which was given by Dr. Hikmatullah. Even the title of the talk was specifically mentioned behind IIUM Borders but I believed it is also relevant to all persons who still studying in anyhwere and the person who wants to try new challenges in the real world.

Basically, the main issue that was raised by dr himself is about the life of student in the university within 4 years time . Actually, the normal life of such students is just go to kulliyah, listen to lecture, revised, studying, eating and sleeping. After that, they just think to get good job, have more money, get married and that is. Most of the students did not like to involved in curricular activities such as joined the programmed in certain society or even grab the opportunities to get others type of skill and knowledge. That is the scenario of the students in this era. Besides, Dr. also touched on the need to go outside, travel , and communicate with people all walks life about Islam. We as as Muslim should be a da'ie. This is the most vital issued that need to be uphold.

He said as the students used the opportunities to travel and mingled around either with muslim or non-muslim.He shared his owned experience during the years of his study which he willing to take leave for 3 months only to travel around UK and europe. From that, he learn a lot of things about da'wah, how to communicate with people different walks of life . That such a good experience. Some people says that when we travel around or "hijrah", we will get experience and true knowledge in real life". When I'm listening to his speech, i'm spontaneously thinking i'm also want to do the same thing, hijrah or travel to learn new thing and the same ti.me be da'i. May Allah make it easy for me to uphold my dream. Insyallah.

Move on, I would like to emphasis on the most important points that he convey to us to prepare to be a good da'ie..

First and foremost, he said that Individuals must be prepared to convey the message of da'wah. Thus, as a muslim, he or she should equipped themselves with all types of knowledge including Islamic knowledge, skills and others thing. Then, I remind one question post by the audience, what is the quantity, or limit of knowledge that we should possess to be a good daie? He answers that "The best da'wah is to be the best You can be either directly or indirectly".Then, dr further sharing one story about one Muslim guy in United Kingdomwho always go the coffee house to drink and coffee. There is waiteress who will entertain the guys there and almost the non-muslim guy always chit-chat , gossiping, each others. However, this muslim guy did not do anything except just drink his coffee. He did not event call and entertain that lady. So, the lady felt so curious and suspicious why this man action totally different with other guy. Then, she asked the man" Why you just sit by yourselves and did not event talk to me like others guy?" Can you guess , what he reply? He just say that "I'm a muslim , so i have to observe my i'tilat". Since the first conversation, the young and beautiful girl interested to know about Islam and keep asking questions about Islam........ Luckly, both of them got married and He succeed to convert that girl to be a muslim.

See my friends and brothers.......... What is the moral of the story?????We just have to be and act like a real Muslim. Besides,we should potray our good attitude and the best akhlak as we can. We are not hyprocite but as a Muslim , that is our responsibility to act like muslim man and woman. "ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS".To be a da'ie , it is not a compulsory and mandatory for us to memorize Al-Quran or hundred of Hadith but starting with ourselves ... Be the best we can..... One of the hadith of the prophet: " Sampaikan walaupun satu ayat"... Insyallah, with real intention, it easy for us to convey the message of islam with ALLAH bless.

I would like again to qoute his speech by saying"

"You must take pride of yourselves. You must be pride of Your Religion also.Beside, he stated that how you behave also very important consideration to take into account.

To conclude, I would like to say that explore the world that was created by ALLAH with the right intention which is to learn new things, to understand and the most important thing is to be a da'ie either directly or indirectly.
